Wooden Beads
In the mid of 1920s, The Western society was introduced to the wooden beads when just about all the other parts of the world had more or less lived the epoch of these beads. A number of wooden beads have an extensive history and folklore. A lot of South Asian societies use sweet-smelling sandalwood to create simple rosaries for their prayers and rituals.
Again in the beginning of the 20th century, the western world picked up the style of wood beads and these were being re-introduced by high society fashion brand names. This once again stimulated the public to put on the funky and trendy accessories made of wood. Even though, wooden beads caught up considerably late into the Western society, nonetheless, they stayed put instead of fading away with time. At present wood beads are very much in vogue and demand in beaded jewelry industry.
